Children aged 4–7 leave the sanctuary following the opening songs of praise and continue worshiping for 50–55 minutes in the Children and Worship room, found on the second level.
The Children and Worship room is specifically designed to allow them to joyfully experience the wonder and mystery of God through a unique storytelling format and multi-sensory materials. In this space they gather as God’s children, to sing together, to hear God’s word and to wonder about and respond to the story they hear in a variety of ways: re-telling a story, or using art materials.
During this time we also pray and share a feast time together. Each child is given a special blessing as they leave to be a disciple in their homes, schools and activities. You can find more information at the official Children & Worship website.
Children and Worship does not happen in the summer. Instead, there is a supervised playtime. Children and Worship leaders and helpers are adult and teen volunteers who have received training in Young Children and Worship, and all adult volunteers in our Children and Worship centre have completed NS Child Abuse Registry screening.
